Introduction

The Patient Summary is located within the Clinical View of the patient's chart.  It is always available to review while reviewing or documenting in the patient chart.

FAQ

Q: Can I rearrange the sections of the patient summary to fit my workflow?

A: The patient summary is unable to be rearranged.  We recommend using native search functions Control+F (windows) or Command+F (mac) quickly jump to the bottom of the patient summary. 

Step by Step

  • Navigate to the desired patient's chart

  • Locate the Patient Summary to the left of the page 

  • Scroll to view all sections of the patient summary:

    • Social Determinants: Includes conditions in the environments where people are inhabiting that affect a wide range of health, functioning, and quality-of-life outcomes and risks. The social determinates are populated within the patient summary when a Questionnaire command has been completed.   

    • Conditions: Displays active and inactive patient conditions that are documented with the Diagnose command. This section allows for a user to quickly and effectively Diagnose, Resolve or Assess a condition.  The user can also manipulate the condition list to sort and filter as desired. 

    • Medications:  Displays all active medications for the patient.  Allows for the user to quickly and effectively stop, adjust, refill or review medications. 

    • Allergies: Includes patient allergies that have been documented into the patient's chart by the Allergy command. 

    • Vitals: Displays the latest vitals documented by the Vitals command are on display first. The patient's BMI is automatically calculated in the vitals table if a height and weight have been recorded. This section also allows for the user to easily access all vitals recorded and print a flowsheet if needed. 

    • Immunizations: Displays any immunizations documented by the Immunize and Immunization Statement commands. 

    • Surgical History: Displays past surgical procedures that have been recorded by the Past Surgical History command

    • Family History: Displays diseases or health conditions within a patient's family that have been recorded using the Family History command
