Canvas integration with Sfax is used for bidirectional faxing in and out of Canvas. Faxes can be generated by using the referral command, image order command, and the note triple dot menu. Faxes received are available in Data Integration.

Q: How do I reset my password for my Sfax admin account?

A: Go to Sfax Forgot Password page and enter your username. 

 

Q: How do I get my username for my Sfax admin account?

A: Contact Canvas Support for assitance.

 

Q: Can I have more than one fax number?

A: Yes, contact Canvas Support if you would like to set up another Sfax number.

Step by Step

Logging Into sFax

NOTE: Sfax accounts in Canvas can have admin users that can log into Sfax and view sfax inbox, failed faxes, and sent faxes. Sfax admins can also receive email notifications for Received, Delivered, or Failed faxes.

  • Navigate to Sfax Login Page

  • Enter your username and password in the appropriate fields

  • Select Login

Faxing A Note

  • Navigate to the desired note

  • Locate and click on the triple dot menu in the top right of the note

  • Select the plus sign at the bottom of the page

  • Select Fax note

  • Enter a Recipient Name in the appropriate fields

  • Enter a Fax number in the appropriate fields

Faxing a Letter

  • Begin a Letter note following the steps above

  • Select Fax located in the footer of the letter note to open a fax module

  • Type the recipient name in the recipient field

  • Enter the fax number in the fax number field (no spaces of special characters)

  • Select Send Fax 

  • Ensure a message stating "Faxed ____ ago on ____" is displayed on the Letter note.

  • Ensure the status of the fax is also displayed within the action log  

    • Letter Fax statuses: 

      • Fax sending via Sfax: Sending fax is in process through third party vendor Sfax

        • Fax delivered: Sfax has returned a status of a successfully delivered fax

        • Fax failed to deliver: receives a status directly from Sfax such as "Blocked Number" or "Number Busy"

        • Failed to connect to Sfax: Sfax failed to connect

        • Sfax is not configured: Sfax has not been configured in the instance

NOTE: After faxing, the letter collapses and can no longer able to be edited.

Faxing Image Orders

  • Locate the committed image command

  • Click on the triple dot menu to the right of the command

  • Select Fax

  • Verify that the message that appears has the right recipient and phone number (you will have 7 seconds before it automatically sends) 

  • Select Send 

Faxing Referrals

  • Locate the committed referral command

  • Click on the triple dot menu to the right of the command

  • Select Fax to Specialist

  • Verify that the message that appears has the right recipient and phone number (you will have 7 seconds before it automatically sends) 

  • Select Send 

Faxing via Data Integration

  • Navigate to Data Integration

  • Locate or upload the document you wish to fax

  • Select the Forward by Fax button 

  • Enter the recipient name and fax number in the appropriate fields

  • Select Sent Fax
