Admin | Drug/Allergy Warning Controls

By default Canvas shows all Drug/Drug Interaction Warnings as well as all Allergy Warnings. However, this setting can be adjusted at the organizational level in settings in accordance with ONC certification.    

Tips & Tricks

  • Allergy warnings are displayed as red indicators in the Canvas UI.

  • Drug interactions are displayed as orange indicators in the Canvas UI.

  • If Drug and Allergy Warnings are hidden then the following message with display: Drug interaction(s) may be hidden per severity display settings.

Step By Step

  • Begin in the schedule view

  • Locate and select the triple line menu

  • Locate and select Settings

  • Locate and open Config under the Constance setting

  • Locate the Drug and Allergy Warning Level section

  • View the DRUG_INTERACTION_WARNING_LEVEL and the ALLERGY_WARNING_LEVEL under the "Show all Drug/Drug Interaction Warnings" section

    • Setting is set to Show-All by default

  • Use the drop down to change the value for the desired setting

    • DRUG_INTERACTION_WARNING_LEVEL value options are the following:

      • Hide All Drug/Drug Interaction Warnings

      • Hide Moderate and Severe Drug/Drug Interaction Warnings

      • Hide Moderate Drug/Drug Interaction Warnings

      • Show All Drug/Drug Interaction Warnings

    •  ALLERGY_WARNING_LEVEL value options are the following:

      • Hide All Allergy Warnings

      • Hide Moderate and Mild Allergy Warnings

      • Hide Mild Allergies

      • Show All Allergy Warnings

NOTE: The Allergy command allows users to set the severity of allergy as mild, moderate, or severe.
