Lab Vendor Integration
Canvas Medical supports a Health Gorilla integration with a variety of lab vendors, including LabCorp and Quest. A comprehensive list of Health Gorilla-connected labs is available here.
If only Generic Lab appears as an option in the Lab Order command dropdown, the lab vendor integration setup has not been completed.
Configuration & Set Up
To set up integration with specific lab vendors (e.g., LabCorp, Quest):
Gather the Required Information to share with Canvas Support:
Organization Information (must match the details provided to the lab):
Organization Name
Organization Address
Organization Phone
Organization Fax
Organization's Group NPI
Name and email of the primary point of contact for the integration process
Provider List: Details of providers who need to order labs in Canvas:
Name

Lab Information:
Lab Name
Lab Account Number
Lab Account Primary Contact (Name and Email)
Contact Canvas Support and provide the gathered information.
Canvas will coordinate with Health Gorilla to initiate the lab vendor integration process.

Q: Why can I only see "Generic Lab" as an option when ordering labs?
A: If "Generic Lab" is the only option, your account has not been configured for integration with specific lab vendors. Contact Canvas Support with the required information to start the integration process.
Q: Do I need to log into Health Gorilla separately to order labs?
A: No, all lab orders are processed directly through Canvas Medical using the Lab Order command. Logging into Health Gorilla separately is unnecessary.
Q: How can I send lab orders if the lab is not integrated with Canvas?
A: Select "Generic Lab" in the Lab Order command. Once the command is committed, use the following steps:
Click the triple menu of the command.
Select Fax.
Choose the lab from the dropdown directory or manually enter the lab information.
Q: How is a new provider set up to order labs in Canvas?
A: After integration is complete, if a new provider needs access to order labs, contact Canvas Support. They will send an invite to the provider and configure their staff profile for lab ordering.
