After you submit a Lab Ordering enrollment request through the Provider Enrollment Dashboard, Canvas Support works with Health Gorilla to add the provider to your practice's account. Once the provider is active, Canvas notifies you and the provider can start ordering labs electronically.

What Lab Ordering Enables
Once enrolled, providers can electronically order lab tests in Canvas through the Health Gorilla network. This includes major laboratory companies like Quest, LabCorp, and others your practice is enrolled with.

Canvas Support receives your enrollment request
Canvas sends a request to Health Gorilla to add the provider to your practice's account
Health Gorilla processes the request and adds the provider
Health Gorilla notifies Canvas once complete
Canvas confirms in your enrollment ticket that the provider is active
The whole process typically takes 3-5 business days.
Next Steps
Once Canvas confirms the provider is active with Health Gorilla, they can start ordering labs immediately. No additional setup required.

Q: Does the provider need separate accounts for different lab companies?
A: No. One enrollment gives the provider access to all labs integrated with your practice.
Q: Can providers order specialty labs?
A: Yes, if the specialty lab is in the Health Gorilla network. Check with Canvas Support about specific lab companies.
Troubleshooting
Q: I submitted enrollment yesterday but the provider still gets a Code 422 error. What should I do?
A: Health Gorilla may still be processing. Wait 1-2 business days from submission. If the error persists, check your enrollment ticket for Canvas confirmation, then contact Canvas Support if needed.
Q: Provider information changed. Do they need to re-enroll?
A: It depends on what changed. Contact Canvas Support to determine if re-enrollment is needed or if they can coordinate the update with Health Gorilla.
Q: Can I cancel a lab ordering enrollment request?
A: Yes. Contact Canvas Support immediately in the enrollment ticket and they can coordinate with Health Gorilla.
