Why You Need Identity Proofing
Federal law requires identity verification before providers can prescribe electronically, and Surescripts requires it for ePrescribing enrollment. PersonaTrust handles this verification through a quick remote appointment.
Who needs to complete this
All providers enrolling for ePrescribing — non-controlled medications
All providers enrolling for EPCS — controlled substances
Both new providers and providers transferring from another EMR

After Your Appointment
Once your appointment is complete, PersonaTrust generates your identity proofing certificate and sends it to you via email. Save the PDF and share a copy with your practice administrator. They'll need it to submit your enrollment request.
What happens next
Your practice administrator takes it from here. They'll submit your enrollment request through Canvas and keep you updated on next steps. Depending on the enrollment type, you may need to complete additional steps for ePrescribing, EPCS, or lab ordering.
